Vacuum assisted slumping

Vacuum assisted slumping

The vacuum assisted slumping process in detail

In vacuum assisted slumping, a thin glass is heated and formed under its own weight and with the additional aid of an applied vacuum.

The application of the vacuum has the advantage that high degrees of forming can be achieved with thin glasses, even with small surfaces. In addition, the forming temperature can be reduced, which in turn has a positive effect on the service life of the forming tools and the tool occupation time.

We develop individual solutions for your application in the field of process engineering. Our process knowledge along the entire manufacturing chain helps us to design the optimal process. Vacuum-assisted slumping is part of our 4-in-1 plant technology.
