Deep drawing

Deep drawing process in detail

During deep drawing, the glass is heated to such an extent that forming takes place due to the application of external forces, for example by applying a vacuum. The vacuum is applied between the tool and the thin glass, and the glass is thus brought into a corresponding shape.

With deep drawing, it is possible to form thin glass in a complex manner. Even glasses with small bending radii and high aspect ratios can be produced while a high forming accuracy is achieved.

With deep drawing, higher forming degrees can be achieved as compared to gravity slumping or vacuum-assisted slumping.

We develop individual solutions for your application in the field of process engineering. Our process knowledge along the entire manufacturing chain helps us to design the optimal process. Deep drawing is part of our 4-in-1 plant technology.
